Over 200 people attended the second SteerSmart Luncheon recently at the Piedmont Driving Club in Midtown in support of the educational safe driving program. Co-chairs Lara Balser and Shannon Nease helped raise awareness of SteerSmart’s mission to help young student drivers, passengers and parents prevent life-shattering car crashes by focusing on the decisions and consequences made specifically in cars. SteerSmart founder Lauren Winborne, along with parents Rebecca Ellsworth and Steve Korn, shared significant facts and impactful stories of car crashes, which are equal opportunity killers. All the money raised at the event will fund the mission of SteerSmart and allow Winborne to present this free program in schools locally and nationally while expanding the program, making a bigger impact and ultimately saving more lives through safer driving practices.
