A popular summer concert series is returning to East Point. Known as “Wednesday Wind Down In The Point,” the series will host a superstar R&B lineup. This year’s kick-off event is on May 22 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Downtown Commons, located at 2757 East Point Street. Admission is free. The headliners include national R&B recording artists Jon B, Montell Jordan, and Cherrelle who will perform their greatest hits. V-103’s Ramona Debreaux and WAOK’s Derrick Boazman will be the hosts. There will also be musical performances by The Soul Cartel Band and a local artist.

“Wednesday Wind Down In The Point” provides an opportunity for residents and visitors to relax in Downtown East Point while enjoying good music, food, and the outdoors, stated officials. Food Trucks along with the East Point Farmers Market will be onsite. Concert goers are encouraged to bring their blankets and chairs. Tents, outside food/beverage, or pets will not be allowed.

Local businesses can still get involved by being a sponsor for subsequent “Wednesday Wind Down In The Point” concert series to be held on June 26, July 24 and August 28. The city’s sponsorship packet includes VIP In-Kind Food Sponsor, “Silver” ($1000), “Gold” ($2000), “Platinum” ($3000), and “Presenting Sponsor” ($5000) levels which includes various ways for participating businesses to gain exposure. For more information concerning sponsorship opportunities contact Jamayca Cole, the City’s Communications Coordinator for the Office of Communications, at jcole@eastpointcity.org.
