David J. LeValley, special agent in charge of the FBI Atlanta field office, requests the public’s assistance in identifying and locating the individual responsible for five bank robberies and one attempted bank robbery, occurring in a two-month period in and around the Riverdale, Fayetteville, Lovejoy and Union City areas.

According to a news release, on Aug. 8 at about 12:30 p.m., a lone black male entered the Wells Fargo Bank at 11235 Tara Blvd. in Lovejoy and announced a robbery by presenting the teller with a demand note.

The robber obtained an undisclosed amount of money and departed the bank without further incident.

The same individual went on to rob, or attempt to rob, the following banks:

Aug. 9 at about 2:30 p.m., SunTrust Bank, 1330 Hwy. 85 N, Fayetteville.

Sept. 18 at about 11 a.m., JPMorgan Chase Bank, 7145 Hwy. 85, Riverdale.

Sept. 28 at about 11:30 a.m., SunTrust Bank, 7575 Hwy. 85, Riverdale.

Oct. 18 at about 2:15 p.m., Bank of America, Fayetteville (attempted).

Oct. 23 at about 11:30 a.m., JPMorgan Chase, 4550 Jonesboro Road, Union City.

The robber is described as being a black male, medium to stocky build, mid 30’s in age, often wearing shorts, sunglasses, and a black wave cap.

During the Oct. 23 robbery, the robber was accompanied by an unknown black female that stood with him at the victim teller station and was observed and photographed departing the bank with the robber.
