A Locust Grove man was sentenced to life with the first 30 years in prison for having sex with a child.
Gabriel Ahmed, 35, entered a guilty plea in Henry County Superior Court on April 22 to one count of aggravated child molestation and two counts of child molestation.
In 2017, Ahmed had sex with a girl under the age of 16 in the woods behind a McDonough home.
The child took the stand during the plea hearing and told Superior Court Judge Holly W. Veal that Ahmed took advantage of her.
The judge then sentenced Ahmed to life with the first 30 years to be served in prison. Ahmed, of Locust Grove, also must register as a sex offender for the rest of his life and have no contact with the victim.
“This man preyed upon this child,” District Attorney Darius Pattillo said. “The child and her family are satisfied that he will spend the next three decades in prison and be a registered sex offender for life.”
The case was prosecuted by the District Attorney’s Crimes Against Children/Domestic Violence Unit.
