Fulton County seeks to hire youth in need of employment for the third consecutive summer. For the past two summers, the county has spent more than $518,000 to provide more than 315 youth, ages 16 to 24 with training and paid employment to prepare them for future success.

Eligible youth in need of summer employment can apply in person at the Adamsville WorkSource Center at 3700 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive S.W., Atlanta, on March 27 and 28 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., the South Fulton Career Center, 5710 Stonewall Tell Road from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., or at the Health & Human Services Building located at 137 Peachtree St. S.W. in Atlanta from 8:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. Online applications will be accepted through the Community Development Youth and Community Services Division beginning March 27 through April 5 at www.fultoncountyga.gov/syip.

Youth attending the following schools are eligible to apply:

-Maynard H. Jackson High School

-The New Schools at Carver High School

-Frederick Douglass High School

-South Atlanta High School

-Westlake High School

-Langston Hughes High School

Zip Codes in program include 30213, 30312, 30315, 30318, 30331 and 30354.

Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States, must be attending school and/or currently unemployed. Youth who receive employment are required to be available Wednesday June 12, 2018 through Tuesday, July 16, 2019.

Last year 63 private, public and non-profit employers supported the Youth Initiative. Currently, 50 employers are participating in the 2019 Summer Internship Program. The Department of Community Development expects additional confirmations before the program’s June 12 kickoff.

Georgia ID or Driver’s license, High School ID with last report card or College ID, Letter of acceptance, residency form or notarized affidavit declaring residency in Fulton County.
