Riverwood International Charter School welcomed its class of 2019 inductees into its Athletic Hall of Fame prior to its recent homecoming football game at Hoskyn Stadium. The six honorees were invited to a private reception prior to the game. This year’s inductees are: Jordan Batey, a 2010 graduate who was the No. 1 girls’ tennis player in Class AAA and a member of one state title team and two state runner-up squads; Alexis de Groot, a 2013 graduate who help the Raiders qualify for the state playoffs all four years and won several awards, finishing as the school’s leader in career goals; Chris Hall, a 1986 grad who starred for the boys’ tennis and basketball teams, helping lead Riverwood to a state tennis title in 1986; Darius King, a 2010 grad who starred in boys’ track and basketball, winning the state title as a senior in the high jump in a school-record 7 feet and helping the basketball team advance to the Elite 8; and contributors Lynne Miller, whose three children attended and played sports at Riverwood and as a volunteer led its communications team; and Kay Palmer, a 1978 grad whose two children attended and played sports at Riverwood and as a volunteer led the Riverwood Athletic Association.
