In September, which was Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, Georgia’s Own Credit Union partnered with Atlanta Hawks legend Dominique Wilkins and the Child Life Zone at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite in Sandy Springs for a patient party. Featuring crafts, games, snacks, a photo/autograph station and words of wisdom and encouragement from Wilkins, the event allowed the former NBA star to see children who are too sick or injured to play on the playground or go to a Hawks game. This party is the latest endeavor in Georgia’s Own’s 85 Acts of Kindness campaign, a yearlong initiative designed to serve the public good in unique and unexpected ways in celebration of the credit union’s 85th anniversary.
