Northside football players were among those recognized for their achievements on the gridiron in 2022 with their selections to the Georgia High School Football Daily All-State teams.
Four local standouts earned spots on the Class AAAA All-State first team, with Pace Academy senior offensive lineman Trovon Baugh selected on offense and junior defensive linemen Hevin Brown-Shuler (Pace) and Jacobi Murray (Holy Innocents’) and Westminster junior punter Carson Wilkie chosen on defense.
Junior wide receiver/defensive backs Zach Jackson (Holy Innocents’) and Terrence Kiel (Pace Academy) were AAAA honorable mention selections.
In Class AAAAAA, two Woodward Academy players — junior linebacker Myles Graham and junior defensive back C.J. Heard — along with St. Pius X sophomore Jack Tchienchou, were first team defense selections.
Marist players junior defensive lineman Luke Harpring and senior offensive lineman Kevin McDonald and Woodward Academy junior wide receiver Ben Grice were chosen for the AAAAAA honorable mention.
In Class A. Division I, Whitefield Academy senior linebacker Caleb LaVallee was named defensive player of the year. Whitefield senior offensive lineman Ian Geffrard was a Class A, Division I honorable mention selection.
Wesleyan junior wide receiver Jamie Tremble was an honorable mention choice in Class AAA.
