Please accept my appreciation for your work. It is an imperfect science whose major barriers are time and funding not passion or persistence.

We are living in unprecedented times that require previously unimaginable actions. Today, I ask you to recommit to your mission with unwavering vigor. Democracy’s oxygen supply is running short and you alone fulfill it.

Yesterday (during the Trump-Putin summit in Helsinki), we realized America’s worst case scenario – one that millions around the world have feared since 10 p.m. Nov. 8, 2016.

Close your eyes. Imagine elite soldiers with unique weapons breaking into a building, running out with computers, and escaping with that stolen property. Last Friday, we learned that 12 Russian military intelligence officers executed this mission as directed by their mafia state leader who unrepentantly said “Yes, I did (want Trump to win).” (They were indicted and are accused of hacking into the Democratic National Committee and the Hillary Clinton presidential campaign’s computers/accounts).

Never in America’s history has our president enthusiastically refuted his own government on the world stage.

Never has our president bowed to a former KGB officer who murders his rivals.

Never has our president abdicated his Constitutional duty to protect our democratic institutions to predictable, preventable acts of war on America’s homeland – acts that fueled his victory and were invisible to your photographer’s lens but are described in high resolution detail by an enlisted Vietnam War veteran whose Purple Heart and Bronze Star radiate textbook patriotism.

Wednesday from 6 to 9 p.m. I will lead a vigil that confronts the rampant corruption we have witnessed since Jan. 20, 2017 (it will be held at the Martin Luther King Jr. Federal Building, 77 Forsyth St. in downtown Atlanta; for more information, visit https://www.confrontcorruption.org/jillmyers/confront_corruption_atl). I welcome your team to join us and all members of our community who share my commitment to this peaceful, nonviolent demonstration of unity.

Corruption hates the Fourth Estate. But democracy dies without you.

Press on for all of us.
