The Sandy Springs Police Department’s SWAT team has raided a house due to possible drugs there.
“Our officers served a search warrant Friday morning on Starlight Drive,” Sgt. Sam Worsham, a police spokesman, said of the May 24 raid. He declined to comment further on the investigation, saying he can’t release more information at this time.
According to a WSB-TV report, neighbors said they thought the house had been vacant since it was sold by an elderly couple last year. They were surprised by the raid, which occurred at about 7 a.m.
“I could hear this giant bang, bang, bam – like a lot of crashing sounds, the door getting kicked in – smoke grenades,” a young witness told the TV station.
Residents said they heard a loud buzzing sound coming from the house prior to the raid.
