The Atlanta Police Department Thursday announced it has arrested a suspect in the deadly shooting that took place Oct. 5 at Level V, an event space located at 2101 Tula St. in Buckhead.

Brian Onyekewe, of Decatur, was shot at a party there. According to police, he was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital but died from the injuries he sustained.

The police’s homicide unit obtained arrest warrants for Anthony Parkman, 28, of Atlanta, for the shooting death of Onyekewe. Parkman was taken into custody Sunday and was transported to the Fulton County Jail, where he is being held without bond. He has been charged with murder and first-degree criminal damage to property.

Parkman’s next hearing date is Nov. 5 at 9:30 a.m. in Courtroom 1D, according to Tracy Flanagan, the Fulton County Sheriff's Office's spokeswoman.
