Emory St. Joseph’s Hospital in Sandy Springs will host the third annual Run for Mercy 5K March 23 at 8 a.m.

Proceeds from the race support the hospitals’ Fund of Excellence, which supports Emory St. Joseph’s overall mission and strategic direction as well as providing the monies needed to grow, deliver exceptional care and introduce new services needed to better serve the community.

The Run for Mercy 5K will kick off at the King and Queen buildings at the Concourse Office Park complex (CBRE Asset Services, 4 Concourse Pkwy. in Sandy Springs).

“Since our founding, Emory St. Joseph’s has been focused on providing care to those less fortunate, which is the mission of our founders, the Sisters of Mercy,” Emory St. Joseph’s CEO Heather Dexter said in a news release. “We are so grateful for the many runners and walkers who support the Run for Mercy 5K each year, which in turn, allows us to expand our services in the community to those needing it most.”

Registration is $40 for runners and $35 for walkers/joggers (but will go up by $5 each March 19) and free for participants under age 8. Parking is complimentary and convenient at the Concourse. Bib pickup for preregistered participants begins at 7 a.m.
