Leadership Sandy Springs’ class of 2018 gathers for a photo after kicking off its year.

Leadership Sandy Springs Sept. 27 announced its class of 2018 has officially begun its new year, having kicked off with an alumni-wide fiesta (an annual event) Sept. 7 and a weekend-long retreat in Helen Sept. 15 and 16.

Leadership is a nonprofit that fosters a vibrant community by serving as the nexus for leadership development and civic engagement. The class consists of 36 diverse leaders from different backgrounds. Members will interact with decision-makers while being educated on issues facing our changing community and participate in teams to volunteer in community-building projects. They will develop community leadership capacities and learn about the value of inclusion.

At the conclusion of this class, they will connect to leadership opportunities in Sandy Springs to make this city a better place to live and work.
