The final full week of April sees the start of the postseason for three premier spring sports.

The Georgia High School Association (GHSA) soccer state playoffs will begin on April 24. Starting with the boys’ section, the Class A Private boys bracket features Wesleyan which is the top seed from Area 8A. The Wolves won 11 contests in the regular season including a 4-2 victory at Providence Christian Academy on April 18. Wesleyan hosts King’s Ridge Christian, the second seed from Area 6A. The Tigers have won eight matches this season including a 3-1 home victory against Fellowship Christian on April 16.

Blessed Trinity will be the lone local representative in the Class AAAA tournament. The Titans secured the second seed from Region 7AAAA with a 4-3 win at Flowery Branch on April 16. Blessed Trinity will host Pickens.

Three local teams from Region 7AAAAAA will be in the Class AAAAAA tournament. Chattahoochee is the second seed from the region and won its regular season finale 2-1 at North Gwinnett on April 18. The Cougars will host Osborne in the first round. Cambridge earned the third seed by picking up a road win against Dunwoody 6-1 on April 16. The Bears will visit Allatoona for its first round contest. Northview is the fourth seed from the region and will visit Dalton to start the playoffs.

The Class AAAAAAA playoffs will feature Roswell which is the fourth seed from Region 4AAAAAAA. The Hornets,who concluded the regular season with a 4-0 win at Johns Creek on April 18, will visit Lowndes for their first round contest. Milton is also postseason bound after placing second in Region 5AAAAAAA. The Eagles host Grayson in the first round.

The girls’ tournament will start with two local teams facing each other in the Class A Private bracket. Mount Pisgah Christian is the top seed from Area 6A and will host Wesleyan, the second seed from Area 8A, to open the playoffs. The Wolves wrapped up the regular season with a 5-0 win at Providence Christian on April 18.

Blessed Trinity is the third seed from its region and will visit Northwest Whitfield to start its postseason. Johns Creek and Northview are also postseason bound and are in the Class AAAAAA competition. The Gladiators are the top seed from Region 7AAAAAA and earned a 4-1 home win over Roswell to end the regular season. Johns Creek hosts Sprayberry to start the playoffs. The Titans wrapped up their regular season with a 2-1 win at Chattahoochee and visit Harrison in the first round of the playoffs.

Roswell is the third seed from its region and will visit Tift County to start the state playoffs. Milton has also earned a third seed and visits Archer to open postseason play.

The GHSA baseball playoffs will begin on April 24 with the following first-round matchups taking place: Blessed Trinity hosting Ridgeland, Denmark visiting Northwest Whitfield, Cambridge hosting River Ridge, Alpharetta visiting Allatoona and Milton hosting Rockdale County. The Class A Private bracket wasn’t announced at press time.

The GHSA tennis state playoffs began on April 18. In the boys’ competition, Wesleyan won its first round home contest against Atlanta International School 3-0 and will face the winner of the Mount de Sales/North Cobb Christian match in the quarterfinals.

Blessed Trinity won its first round home match against Northwest Whitfield 3-0 but fell at North Oconee 3-0 in the second round. Denmark also reached the Class AAAA playoffs and earned its first postseason win in program history with a 3-0 home victory against Heritage (Catoosa). The Danes will face Oconee County in the second round.

Northview is in the Class AAAAAA quarterfinals after a 3-0 first round home win over Allatoona and a 3-0 victory at Lanier in the second round. The Titans will face either Valdosta or Richmond Hill in the quarterfinals. Johns Creek won its first round match against River Ridge 3-0 and host Gainesville in the second round. Centennial won at Harrison 3-2 in the first round and visit Alexander in the second round.

Milton was victorious in its first round home match against Rockdale County 3-0 and host Peachtree Ridge in the second round.

The girls bracket saw Wesleyan pick up a 3-0 home win over Atlanta International School in the first round. The Wolves will visit Mount Paran Christian in the second round. Mount Pisgah will visit Brookstone in its first round matchup.

Blessed Trinity won its first round home match against Northwest Whitfield 3-0 but fell in the second round at North Oconee 3-0. Denmark dropped its first round match at Heritage (Catoosa) 3-1.

Cambridge was victorious at home against Sequoyah 3-0 in the first round and hosted Winder-Barrow in the second round. Northview won at River Ridge 3-0 in its first round match and visited Northgate or second round action. Rounding out the Class AAAAAA playoffs was Centennial picking up a 3-1 win at Harrison before visiting Gainesville for its second round contest.

Milton won its first round contest at home over Shiloh 3-0 and visited North Gwinnett in the second round. Roswell dropped its first round match at Camden County 3-0.
