Qualifying for Roswell’s municipal election this November runs from Aug. 19 through Aug. 23 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Roswell City Hall.

Fourth position on the ballot include city council positions 1, 2 and 3, and the municipal judge. Those interested in running for election must meet state requirements for voting, be at least 21 years old, have lived in Roswell for one year prior to elections and live in Roswell during their term.

Council Post 1 is held by Marcelo Zapata. Don Horton declared his intent to run for Zapata’s position on July 10. Horton previously served on the city council from 2015 to 2017 and ran for mayor in 2017.

Council Post 2 is held by Mike Palermo, and Geoff Smith declared his intent to run Jan. 1. Keith Geoke intends to run for Council Post 3, which was previously held by Sean Groer. Christine Hall, Lisa Holland, Kay Howell and George Vail also declared intent to run for Council Post 3. Howell previously ran for city council in 2015.
