Sunshine days bring opportunity on two transportation projects in Milton.

Green Road at Crabapple Road, a state route, is in partnership with the Georgia Department of Transportation.

The GDOT contractor advised the city work would begin on March 19.

According to a release, "this particular project required a week without rain in order to lay the base needed for construction."

The "Florida T intersection" project is anticipated to take six weeks, weather permitting.

Milton's Transportation Engineer Sara Leaders was, according to the newsletter, "able to work out additional improvements with this project, including separate turn lanes on Green Road."

GDOT is also the project lead for the Birmingham Highway at Batesville Road project.

Work will resume on utility relocation for the next 2 to 3 weeks, then installation of the left turn lane on SR 372/Birmingham Highway will begin.

More information about both projects is available at www.miltonintersectionprojects.com.

Residents can reach out to Milton officials with additional questions.
