Louisiana State University Interfraternity Council will honor the life of Maxwell Gruver.

"Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with Maxwell Gruver’s family and loved ones. We are committed to the health and safety of all those in the LSU community," the news release said.

"As a visual reminder of this commitment and in remembrance of Max, chapters at LSU will be displaying gold and white ribbons outside of their chapter facilities for the remainder of the fall semester."

Gruver, 18 was a freshman at LSU and a pledge of Phi Delta Theta fraternity.

He passed away on Sept. 14 in Baton Rouge. The precise cause of death has yet to be determined.

LSU Police and East Baton Rouge Parish Coroner's Office continue to investigate the tragic passing of Gruver.
