The 19th annual “Heart and Soul Auction” benefiting the Lionheart School and Lionheart WORKS returns to the Hotel at Avalon on Feb. 9.

Lionheart School specializes in “educating individuals on the autism spectrum, and with other neuro-developmental diagnoses, who have challenges with academics, sensory processing, motor planning, visual and auditory processing, receptive and expressive language, attention, memory, executive function, or social interactions.”

The event celebrates students and the participants of the Lionheart WORKS program.

Lionheart WORKS is a “vocational training program providing individuals 18 years and older with real work experiences, while teaching basic employment skills.”

Individuals in the program begin with a “discovery process” to determine appropriate support and job options while “matching individual strengths with vocational settings that are selected based on individuals affinities, abilities, and work readiness.”

The Lionheart WORKS team’s goal is “to encourage participants to attain their highest level of independence and strive for sustainable employment.”

Festivities for the evening are planned to include wine tastings, live music by Livin’ Large Band and a chance to participate in live and silent auctions.

Auction participants have the chance to win party packages, gift certificates, artwork created by “LionheARTians,” wine and more.

For $100, guests can participate in a “Tito’s Pull” and receive a 750ml bottle of Tito's Handmade Vodka and a themed box filled with “lots of Tito's exclusive swag.”

“An entire week of relaxation at the beautiful Private Residence Club for you to enjoy with your family and friends” is also an auction item.

Another prize is a private cocktail party at Park Tavern in Piedmont Park.

A full list of auction items is available at www.lionheart.givesmart.com.

The auction “provides 15 percent of our annual budget” and is considered “critical to Lionheart’s success.”

All proceeds go directly to serve the children and help Lionheart continue its mission.

Those unable to attend the event, but have an interest in the auction have the option to participate in bidding.

Festivities begin at 6:30 p.m.

The Hotel at Avalon is at 9000 Avalon Boulevard.

The Lionheart School is at 225 Roswell Street in Alpharetta.
