'Perfect 10' 5K

The Roswell Gymnastic Team Booster Club will host its second 5K race to raise money to expand their gymnasium.

The Roswell Gymnastics Team Booster Club invites runners of all levels to participate in its second Roswell Gymnastics “Perfect 10” 5K on Saturday, Aug. 24.

Residents are invited to come out and support the gymnastics program in Roswell and enjoy a fun run along the Chattahoochee River. The race will begin at 7:30 a.m and is an out and back run along the Riverside Park path.

“This year, we are using the funds towards an expansion of our gymnastics facility, since we are running out of space due to the growth of the program,” Optional Treasurer of the Booster Club Ashley Goodrich said.

Runners can register in advance for $25 or race day morning for $30. However, space is limited to 270 participants, so morning-of registration will only be available if spot are left. All participants pre-registered by Aug. 9 will be guaranteed a race t-shirt.

Runners can pick up their packets on Friday, Aug. 23, from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Roswell Gymnastics 10495 Woodstock Road, Physical Activities Building B, Roswell, GA 30075, or on race day beginning at 6 a.m. in Riverside Park. Parking will be available at the park, as well as an overflow lot adjacent to the park.

Awards will be given to male and female runners in each age group for first, second and third place. There will also be overall male and females winners for first, second and third places.

All participants will receive a chip-timed bib before the start of the race, water along the course, and a t-shirt. Music and refreshments at the finish line. Overall winners and age-category winners will be awarded medals.

“We really hope that the runners have a fun, well-organized race and are encouraged to return again next year,” Goodrich said. “We plan for it to be a recurring event for families and individuals in Roswell, where they feel they are enjoying themselves and giving back to the community at the same time.”
