Avalon Nights Live returns to the The Plaza at Avalon on April 5.

From 6 to 8 p.m. on Fridays through October, patrons can enjoy live music and "dance the night away."

The Mike Veal Band will kick-off this season with a "great combination of blues, rock, funk, and fun."

On April 12 Kurt Thomas Band will take the stage.

According to a news release, Thomas has previously opened for "Kenny Chesney, Brooks & Dunn, Sammy Hagar, LeAnn Rimes, Zac Brown, Sugarland, Darius Rucker, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and Gary Alan."

"I have always tried to stay in touch with the fact that a good song tells a story and most of my songs always do", said Thomas.

Braxton and the Renditions will brings "over 20 years of live music experience" to the Plaza at Avalon.

The band intends to perform an "energetic live show" with a set of "jams" from The Beatles, Queen, Blink 182, Weezer, Journey and more.

Athens natives The Grains of Sand Band will perform on April 26.

The band is a seven-member band comprised of a three-piece horn section supporting lead and backup vocalists with "combined experience in the soul, R&B, and the beach music scene."
