In The Glow brings the beauty bar concept to Alpharetta.

“It combines the accessibility of the department store cosmetics counter and the relaxation of a spa,” said Owner Giedre Whitworth.

In The Glow Beauty Bar is a family-run business.

Whitworth, her husband and their three children have been residents of Alpharetta for about 10 years now.

“Our mission is for every client to leave us more relaxed with healthier skin than when they first started,” said Whitworth.

She attributes “getting regular facial treatments” to improved “overall wellness by helping your skin.”

Whitworth credits Alpharetta as being “well known for its amazing amenities and we wanted to add a beauty bar to the list of things to do.”

In the Glow has “created different facial treatments to help improve” skin conditions such as; acne breakouts, sun damage, wrinkles, sensitivity and dehydration.

“Facials are a great way to relax due to their soothing effect on the body,” said Whitworth.

Every patron who gets a facial also gets a hand and scalp massage.

“You will leave us wondering why you didn’t do this sooner,” said Whitworth.

The bar aims to cover “the two most common issues it solves for people who want to get a facial.”

“There are both time constraints and considerable money commitments with your typical spa or salon where you may need to spend a lot of time and money for their services,” said Whitworth.

“At In The Glow Beauty Bar, we offer a wide range of both 30-minute and 1-hour facials.”

The beauty bar accepts walk-ins and schedules appointments.

What sets In the Glow apart from other salons and spas, according to Whitworth, is the “beauty bar concept does not require any clothing removal.”

Another wonderful aspect is that the services are performed in an open space so people can arrive in pairs or in groups. We have hosted team-building events, birthday parties, mother-daughter and mother and son outings.

Whitworth credits the bar’s “concentration on superior skin care services.” versus luxury relaxation” allows the business to “price the services well below what you see at a spa.”

In the Glow prices “start at $35 for a 30-minute facial, $50 for a 1 hour facial.”

A more advanced facial with specialized equipment is available at a higher price point.

In the Glow offers “over 20 different facials.”

“We can customize these facials to serve each person’s unique needs,” said Whitworth.

Facial waxing, lash/brow tinting and makeup applications services are also offered.

The beauty bar also sells Image skincare products and Glo makeup products, brands that are “well known for being very effective and high quality.”

Whitworth describes the beauty bar as “bright and spacious” with “upbeat” music and “light and vibrant” color palette.

While the salon is a “blush pink color” throughout, the beauty bar “set out to be gender-neutral.”

“We were pleasantly surprised by how much interest we received from our male customers,” said Whitworth.

She added that patrons “love the fact that they are not confined to a dark room and that they do not have to remove any clothing.”

In the Glow is also seeing increased popularity among teenagers, who “feel much more at ease in our friendly, non-intimidating open environment,” according to Whitworth.

Giedre Whitworth holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a dual license in nail and skin care.

“She chose to turn her love for skin care and helping people into a career,” said the business website.

Whitworth previously worked for Sugarcoat Nail Bar, Natural Body Spa and Lancôme, bringing with her over a decade of experience in the beauty industry.

In the Glow is at 4620 Kimball Bridge Road, Suite 4A in Alpharetta.

The beauty bar is open Tue, Wednesday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Thursday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
