Vice President Mike Pence will be in Canton on Friday to kick off a bus tour in support of incumbent Republican Sens. Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue.
According to a statement from the Georgia Republican Party, Pence will appear at 12:30 p.m. Friday at the Cherokee County government administration and conference center, 1130 Bluffs Parkway in Canton.
Tickets to the event are available online: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/gagop-defend-the-majority-rally-with-vice-president-pence-tickets-129328124903
The event is being billed as the "Defend the Majority Rally," because Republicans hold the majority in the U.S. Senate and will continue to if Georgia re-elects its two Republican senators.
Loeffler is facing Democrat Raphael Warnock in a runoff Jan. 5 of the special election to fill the remainder of former Sen. Johnny Isakson's term. Loeffler has filled it since January after Isakson resigned for health reasons. Perdue is also facing a runoff with Democrat Jon Ossoff.
Following the rally in Canton, Pence is scheduled to travel to Gainesville for a rally there.
