The owner of a Woodstock towing company has been arrested on drug charges.

According to court and jail records, and information from Cherokee Sheriff’s Office spokesman Jay Baker:

On June 6 as part of an investigation, agents with the Cherokee Multi-Agency Narcotics Squad interviewed Frank Lee Ingram, 44, owner of Frank Ingram Wrecker Service. Agents asked for and were given permission by Ingram to search his vehicle in which they found a small amount of methamphetamine. He was not arrested at that time.

On Friday, agents went to Ingram’s home to serve an arrest warrant for the incident on June 6. While there, they noticed a small amount of marijuana and got a search warrant for the residence. During the search agents discovered an eighth of an ounce of methamphetamine, a small amount of cocaine and several firearms.

Ingram was charged with two felony counts of possession of methamphetamine, possession of a firearm during commission of a felony and misdemeanor possession of marijuana.

Ingram’s son, Chase Lee Ingram, 18, was arrested following execution of the search warrant and charged with felony possession of methamphetamine, misdemeanor possession of a glass pipe with methamphetamine residue in it and felony possession of cocaine.

Both men were booked into the Cherokee County jail. The elder Ingram was released the same day on $15,625 bond, while his son was also released Friday on $10,750.

Frank Ingram Wrecker Service was among a group of seven towing companies called in to assist with local vehicle crashes. Cherokee Chief Marshal Ron Hunton has suspended the company as a rotating on-call towing service for 90 days. The Cherokee County Board of Commissioners could sanction the company further.

The city of Holly Springs has suspended its agreement with Frank Ingram Wrecker Service for towing and storage, City Manager Rob Logan said Tuesday afternoon. The company will have an opportunity to appeal the suspension at a hearing on July 1, Logan said.
