The Cherokee County Procurement Department recently received an additional three years of accreditation from the National Institute of Governmental Purchasing: The Institute for Public Procurement.
This accreditation is a designation given only to the top procurement departments in the country. County officials said the Cherokee County department is one of only four in Georgia and 53 in the United States to receive this designation. The department was originally accredited in 2017.
“The procurement team works diligently to ensure Cherokee County vendors are vetted and contracts are competitive in the market, saving taxpayer dollars,” Administrative Services Agency Director Stacey Williams said in a news release. “I would like to thank Procurement Director Dale Jordan and his team for their hard work in preparing the submission to NIGP and for their continued dedication to making the procurement department one of the best in the nation.”
