A Canton auto repair shop is hosting a car wash and a raffle for two grills Aug. 21 to support a woman in need of a kidney transplant.
The car wash and raffle are at 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 21 at Christian Brothers Automotive, to help support Canton resident Michelle Nichols's second kidney transplant.
Nichols has Alport syndrome, which damages tiny blood vessels in the kidney. She has lived with a kidney transplant from her father for over 30 years, but her kidney is slowing down, and she is in need of a second transplant. Her husband of over 25 years will be her donor.
Nichols said many expenses will be involved, including everyday expenses when the couple are both out of work for up to eight weeks.
The raffle fees are $20 for a chance to win a Weber Genesis II E-335 grill, and $10 for a chance to win a Weber Smoke Fire E-4.
