ATLANTA — Alabama football didn't quite have a 4.0 start to its season despite beating Miami 44-13 on Saturday at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. But as far as report cards go, the Crimson Tide has one probably worth putting on the fridge.

Offense: B+

Quarterback Bryce Young shined and he had no shortage of weapons that played well. The offensive line, with some issues in pass protection, kept this grade from being higher. Alabama also almost had two turnovers.

Defense: A-

The defense was dominant, and the pass rush made life difficult for Miami. The goal-line stand kept Miami from gaining any momentum to start the second half.

Special teams: A-

Will Reichard earned an A+ as he hit a 51-yard field goal and continued his streak of perfection. Otherwise, no one else stood out.

Coaching: A

Nick Saban and staff continued their dominance in openers, and had the team well prepared. The Crimson Tide minimized mistakes for the most part, and Bill O'Brien set Young up for success.

Overall: A-

Alabama squashed any hope of a Miami upset almost immediately. The Crimson Tide wasn't perfect, but it still dominated.
