Janie Fickling Skinner, chair of Shepherd Center’s Legendary Party, recently hosted a fundraiser for the center at Neiman Marcus at Lenox Square in Buckhead. This year’s Legendary Party, set for Nov. 2 at Flourish in Buckhead, is themed “Sakura, Blossoms of Renewal.” The theme is fitting in that supporters gathered in the store’s precious jewels salon to view treasures of Japan – beautiful and rare Akoya pearl and coral jewelry presented by Assael. A portion of the proceeds from sales went to the center. Some of the rare pieces included a pistachio pearl choker, gold pearls, pearls set with gemstones and a white pearl necklace with very large pearls that was priced at $350,000.
