The Atlanta Speech School Guild will hold the 2019 Language and Literacy Gala Nov. 17 from 6:30 to 10 p.m. at the Atlanta History Center in Buckhead, and Jessica and David Crane of Buckhead recently hosted a patron party for the gala’s supporters and sponsors. The gala is the longest continually running holiday event in Atlanta, and hundreds of attendees will gather to support one of the nation’s most comprehensive centers for language and literacy. It will feature a cocktail reception, silent and live auctions, dinner and dancing and a special celebration: the guild’s 50th anniversary. The gala is the guild’s largest fundraiser with 100% percent of proceeds supporting the school’s need-based financial aid program, and during the 2018-19 academic year, the school awarded $1.3 million in financial aid.
