“These contracts represent our continued effort as a county to assist programs aimed at improving the lives of our citizens with the greatest needs,” Fulton Commission Chair Robb Pitts said in a news release. “We want to ensure county taxpayer dollars support these sort of initiatives focusing on impact and effectiveness.”

The Fulton Department of Community Development’s community service program is the county’s primary strategy for funding social services programs connected to its strategic plan for community impact. This program is funded through the Fulton general fund. For this funding cycle, more than 150 applications were received. In 2018, 106,519 residents were served.

Contract applicants are evaluated by a citizen panel during a rigorous review process, and must demonstrate impact within their service areas.
