For longtime Chamblee resident Elyse Defoor, choosing a space for the upcoming “40 Over 40” event was a no-brainer. Defoor said she wanted to bring her studio and a new exhibition space close to her home and was looking to expand her contemporary art practice outside of the concentrated downtown metro Atlanta hub. Her studio and exhibition/event space is located close to the booming Buford Highway area which was another great reason to locate EBD4 in Chamblee.

The premise of the “40 over 40” invitational exhibit is to show that fresh ideas and talent comes from people of all ages, and that artists with decades of life experience have even more to offer. Defoor said, “Everyone who visits EBD4 describes it as a welcoming and out-of-the-box space. The goal of EBD4 is to expand the contemporary art scene into the outside metro Atlanta area, and to provide an inclusive snd expansive space for artists, creatives and people who love art.” With EBD4, Defoor is offering a large scale creative venue to the thriving Chamblee area for exhibits, performance, and uniquely designed social events. Her purpose is to bring people from inside and outside the Chamblee area to a space that offers art in an intimate yet large scale way.

“40 over 40” is an invitational exhibition presented by EBD4, the newest art venue in Chamblee.

The event opens with a celebratory reception November 11 from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., and runs through December 15. Gallery hours are noon to 6 p.m. on Saturdays and by appointment; Members of EBD4 can be reached by phone at 404-667-1902 or by email at ebd4@bellsouth.net. The gallery is located at 2382 Chamblee Tucker Rd. in Chamblee. For more information about EBD4 visit online at www.ebd4.com.
