Buford Highway Bikes and Bites, winner of the Atlanta Bicycle Coalition's 2016 Local Bike Initiative Blinkie Award, is back. Join Atlanta-based social enterprises We Love BuHi and Civil Bikes on a tasty tour by bicycle of Atlanta’s most deliciously diverse and vibrant street.

Sponsored by Sports DeKalb, the sports arm of the DeKalb County Convention and Visitors Bureau, the purpose of the police-escorted ride, which will take place Saturday, April 2, from 8:30 a.m. until noon, is to encourage residents and visitors to taste and experience Buford Highway in a completely novel way. The hilly, medium-paced, eight mile ride is intended for intermediate to experienced riders (average speed of 10 to 12 mph) and starts and ends in the North Parking Lot of Plaza Fiesta, located at 4166 Buford Hwy NE in Atlanta.

Water, light snacks and restrooms will be available at stops along the route. The first stop will be at Super H Mart in Doraville. The second stop will be at Atlanta Chinatown Mall in Chamblee. At the conclusion of the ride, cyclists will be served a full lunch with offerings from Buford Highway favorites Lee’s Bakery, Bismillah Cafe, La Norteña, and Sweet Hut Bakery

Notable guests and speakers include the following:

-Mayor Eric Clarkson of the City of Chamblee
