Sandy Springs-based Visiting Nurse | Hospice Atlanta recently received a donation of $47,000 from the Cardinal Rock Charitable Foundation, raised through the 2019 Brookhaven Wealth Management Charity Golf Classic and Fundraiser at Ansley Golf Club — Settindown in Roswell. Hospice Atlanta, which is part of the Visiting Nurse Health System, provides in-home care for terminally ill patients and support for the rest of their families before and after their deaths, serving the entire metro Atlanta region. The funds raised at the golf tournament will directly support Visiting Nurse | Hospice Atlanta’s biannual Camp STARS program (Sharing Together As Real Support), a bereavement camp for children, adults and their families. Above: From left, Chris Cosenza, chairman of the Cardinal Rock Charitable Foundation and president of Brookhaven Wealth Management, and Visiting Nurse | Hospice Atlanta’s Barbara Moore (manager of volunteer/support services), Deana Porter (director of Camp STARS), Chandelle Carter (bereavement coordinator), Wanda Brown (director of hospice operations) and Dorothy Davis (president and CEO) gather with the check.
