Francois Asselin, president of Asselin Inc. and the 2015 Shutze Award recipient, recently spoke about the international architectural firm’s acclaimed reconstruction of L’Hermione, the original wartime frigate that ferried the Marquis de Lafayette to America in 1780. This Champagne reception and lecture were hosted by the Institute of Classical Art and Architecture, the French Heritage Society and the French-American Chamber of Commerce’s Atlanta chapter at the home of Melanie Turner and Stan Benecki, owners of the historic Pink Castle estate in Buckhead, designed by Philip Shutze in 1923.
