Paces Ferry United Methodist Church in Buckhead recently hosted Brunch on the Lawn, a free event open to the public taking place after its weekly Sunday service. The church, which dates back to 1877, was going to close following its Dec. 30 service, the last one for its retiring lay minister, Steve Unti. But members and others convinced the North Georgia Conference of the United Methodist Church, the church’s parent organization, to keep it open.
