Atlanta International School in Buckhead recently was honored not once but twice. First, at the International School Awards ceremony hosted by ISC Research in London, the school was lauded for outstanding student-led initiatives in 12 different categories from English-medium international schools around the world. Atlanta International was recognized with the International Impact category award for establishing the student-led #MyFreedomDay campaign on a global scale, involving other schools and students to create a global movement that is raising awareness of human trafficking around the world. The award comes as the student group AIS Against Human Trafficking is working with CNN and Delta Airlines to promote the 2020 edition of #Myfreedomday. March 11, students will participate in training sessions and a panel discussion at 5.30 p.m., open to the public with special guests speaking. Second, the school received the Dr. Keith Miller Innovative Leadership Award from the Association for the Advancement of International Education at a ceremony in New York. The award was given in recognition of the school’s commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and social justice.
