Sami Whitcomb scored 26 points and Betnijah Laney added 18 to lift the host New York Liberty to a 99-96 victory over the Dallas Wings on Monday.

Whitcomb made six of the Liberty's franchise-record 15 3-pointers. Jazmine Jones added three from beyond the arc to highlight her 16-point performance for New York (10-9).

Sabrina Ionescu collected 13 points and 12 assists as the Liberty defeated Dallas for the second time in as many meetings this season. New York posted an 88-81 victory over the Wings on May 24.

The Liberty shot a robust 56.3 percent from the floor on Monday to secure their second win in a row after losing eight of their previous 11 games.

Isabelle Harrison scored a career-high-tying 23 points off the bench and Satou Sabally added 16 for Dallas (9-10).

Jones' layup gave New York a 68-58 lead midway into the third quarter before the Wings slowly chipped away. Harrison made a pair of layups to pull Dallas within one on a couple of occasions in the fourth before Marina Mabrey's short jumper gave the Wings an 81-80 lead with 4:52 left.

That advantage was short-lived, however, as Kylee Shook converted a three-point play on the next possession. Jones, Whitcomb and Laney each sank a 3-pointer to send the Liberty to a 92-87 lead with 2:40 to play.

Harrison continued to work the interior to trim the Wings' deficit to three points before Whitcomb drained New York's 15th 3-pointer to double the advantage with 59.9 seconds remaining. Whitcomb added a long-range jumper to effectively seal the win with 16.2 seconds left.

New York answered a 1-for-4 start to the first quarter by making 12 of its next 13 shots to secure a 32-24 lead. The Liberty posted their highest point total in an opening quarter all season.

Whitcomb sank 5 of 6 attempts from the floor -- including 2 of 3 from 3-point range -- to highlight her 12-point performance in the first period.

Dallas countered by scoring 15 of the first 20 points of the second quarter to claim a 39-37 lead. New York answered by exploiting the perimeter, with Laney making a 3-pointer and Ionescu connecting twice from beyond the arc to help the Liberty seize a 51-47 lead at halftime.
