A Hollywood staple is entering Georgia’s race for governor — and Cobb County — as actor and comedian Will Ferrell is expected to head to Kennesaw this afternoon to stump for Democrat Stacey Abrams.

Ferrell is expected to stump for the Democratic candidate during what’s been hailed as a “Meet and Greet” at the Varsity near Town Center Mall, according to Abrams’ campaign website.

The 51-year-old rose to fame in the mid-‘90s as a cast member on NBC’s “Saturday Night Live.”

It remains to be seen if Ferrell’s planned appearance will resemble anchorman Ron Burgundy reporting the news, or Frank “The Tank” going “old school” and getting ready to go streaking.

The event is expected to begin at 12:30 p.m. at 2790 Town Center Drive in Kennesaw.
