Atlanta-based Resurgens Orthopaedics, which has offices in Cobb County, announced that orthopaedic surgeon Dr. Mark Hanna has been named the Medical Honoree of the Arthritis Foundation’s 2019 Walk to Cure Arthritis in Atlanta.
He will be recognized at the start of the May 4 Walk for his excellence in orthopaedic surgery, for his support of the foundation and for his philanthropic work with Operation Walk USA and Mercy Care.
Walk to Cure Arthritis, the Arthritis Foundation’s annual, flagship fundraising event, is the largest arthritis gathering in the world where communities join together nationwide to celebrate Arthritis Warriors and connect with others in the community.
Dr. Hanna will also donate to the Arthritis Foundation Georgia Office for each person who joins “Team Hanna” for the May 4 event. The Resurgens Charitable Foundation will match these and all of the funds his team raises.
Dr. Hanna practices in Resurgens Orthopaedics’ Emory St. Joseph’s Hospital location and specializes in hip and knee joint replacement surgery.
He received his medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York and completed his residency at Emory University in Atlanta. He was fellowship-trained in total joint replacement and biologic reconstruction at Harvard University. He is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the American Academy of Hip and Knee Surgeons, the Georgia Orthopaedic Society and the Atlanta Orthopaedic Society.
