Cobb-based Delta Community Credit Union announced that Jenn Garcia, who is just shy of celebrating her 10th year with the credit union, will lead the Johns Creek location at 6700 McGinnis Ferry Road.

“This company offers employees ongoing training and we’re always learning how to better help our members live healthy financial lives,” said Garcia. “I’m excited to share that with our members and neighbors in Johns Creek. It’s a privilege to be here.”

She joined Delta Community in 2009, as a teller at its retail branch in Duluth. Since then, she’s served as a cash management coordinator, member service advisor and assistant branch manager in Delta Community locations from Gainesville to Hapeville. A licensed real estate agent, she previously worked for large real estate firms and also helped run small family businesses.

Because of her past experience she says she understands how rare it is to work for a company where the main focus is on the customer first and also on employees’ well-being.

“That’s why I love Delta Community,” Garcia said. “It’s a blessing to have the ability to make a positive difference in our members’ financial lives, and in my employees’ professional lives.”

One of those employees is Northview High School senior Rohan George. As a participant in the Delta Community High School Apprentice Program, George was offered the same training as an adult bank teller. He also earns an adult-sized paycheck for his part-time job.

“Going through weeks of professional teller training was intense,” said George. “And I’m still learning because Jenn helps me every day with ‘soft skills,’ like providing great customer service and interacting with adults in a professional setting. I know this will help me in college and my future career.”

Garcia says Johns Creek is not the busiest Delta Community branch, but she is focused on bringing in business from the nearly 40,000 vehicles that pass the branch daily.
