Georgia Manufacturing Alliance members pose for a 10th anniversary photograph. Special to the MDJ

The Georgia Manufacturing Alliance (GMA) experienced unprecedented growth in 2018 surpassing even the expectations of CEO and founder Jason Moss.

“I saw a need in the marketplace for manufacturers to connect and learn from each other,” said Moss. “GMA was founded in 2008, as a way to find local resources and learn best business practices from others in the industry.”

Some of GMA’s 2018 highlights include a 10th anniversary celebration and ribbon cutting at GMA new office building; the addition of two GMA staff members; 100 new members and five new annual sponsors; the addition of 17 Joint Industry Association of Georgia (JIAG) partners; 120 plant tours, educational workshops, and networking events throughout the state; 16 consumer product plant tours in July 2018; BuyFromGA.com website developed to promote consumer-based products; over 800 attendees at the Georgia Manufacturing Summit; the 4th Annual People of Manufacturing Awards; and two editions of the Georgia Manufacturing Directory – cited as the No. 1 resource guide for the manufacturing community.

GMA also received national and international press coverage from Atlanta Business Chronicle, Business RadioX, Gwinnett Daily Post, IndustrialSage, Marietta Daily Journal, Savannah News, Supply Chain NOW Radio, Welding Journal and many other media sources.

“As we reflect on 2018 and our 10th Anniversary year, we are very thankful for everyone who partnered with us to bring about this success,” Moss said. “Our main objective is to provide our manufacturers, suppliers, and service industries the resources they need for every area of their business and we are looking forward to 2019 being our best year ever.”
