The Buffalo Bills star's appearance almost brought show panelist Ken Jeong to tears.
Damar Hamlin recently brought smiles to both the crowd and, assumably, the viewers, of a TV competition show with an unexpected appearance.
On the March 15 episode of The Masked Singer, the Buffalo Bills star—whose on-field collapse required CPR during a January NFL game—made a cameo on the FOX singing show.
The new episode of the series was dedicated to the wonders of Sesame Street, featuring cameos from Big Bird, Cookie Monster and even the famed little red monster himself, Elmo.
After the first performance of the night was delivered from the Squirrel, the celebrity panel—comprised of Robin Thicke, Ken Jeong, Jenny McCarthy, Nicole Scherzinger and guest panelist Jennifer Nettles—were given a clue which began with a young boy sitting on some steps, talking with Elmo.
Upon telling the Sesame Street character his name is Damir, the youngster revealed he was actually visiting the show with his big brother. To the genuine surprise of the audience, and even the panel, a beaming Damar then walked out from backstage and waved as he stood next to host Nick Cannon.
The 24-year-old's emergence nearly brought Jeong to tears, as the Hangover actor shared his personal appreciation and support for the football player.
"That's my world," Damar said of his kid brother. "I put family first. And, you know, he loves Sesame Street more than most things, so we had to make it tonight."
As Parade previously reported, Hamlin suffered cardiac arrest during the Buffalo Bills vs. Cincinnati Bengals game on Jan. 2, and was hospitalized for over a week as a result.Â
His impressive recovery journey has since inspired many worldwide.
