Pope beat West Hall (66-12), Apalachee (69-12), Winder-Barrow (77-0) and East Hall (60-12) before beating North Hall 54-7 in the finals.
Nine wrestlers went 5-0 on the day included — Mack Haskin (106 pounds), Josh Tazzetta (113), Sam Skinner (126), Tyler Haskin (132), Jake Adcock (138), T.J. Collins (145), Davis Burson (152), Jake Henson (160) and Zeke Weber (182).
The Greyhounds will return to the mat Tuesday for the Hillgrove Duals.
Pope 69, Douglass 63: Chase Hutchins saved two of his biggest baskets for the final moments as the Greyhounds opened the North Forsyth Thanksgiving tournament with a victory.
In a game which neither team led by more than four points until the final minutes, Hutchins scored five of his team-high 21 points late in the fourth quarter to help secure the win.
Cole Childers had 17 points and Garrick DeBowles added 13.
Pope (2-0) will continue tournament play Monday in the semifinals against Roswell.
Kennesaw Mountain 53, River Ridge 45: Andrew Jimenez scored nine of his team-high 17 points in the fourth quarter to lift the Mustangs to a non-region victory.
Kennesaw Mountain trailed River Ridge 36-32 heading to the final quarter, but defensive stops and transition baskets allowed the Mustangs to outscore the Knights 21-9 over the last 8 minutes.
Nigel Hayes scored 10 points and Maceo Inman finished with nine in the win.
Kennesaw Mountain (2-1) will host Marietta on Dec. 3.
Whitefield Academy 74, Johnson-Gainesville 70: The Wolfpack were ahead by 10 points with 5 minutes to play in their season opener before Johnson began hitting 3-pointers to get back into the game.
Whitefield, however, never relinquished the lead, though Johnson got within four on several occasions.
The Wolfpack (1-0) held on by making four of five free throws down the stretch.
Eric Lockett led Whitefield with 22 points, while Brendan Myles chipped in with 17. Courtney Alexander was also in double figures with 11, and Jesse Byrd had 10 points.
Walker 70, Yeshiva 52: The Wolverines came out slow and trailed by nine after the first quarter.
But all that changed in the second half. Walker took over the game by outscoring Yeshiva 26-8 in the third quarter and creating turnovers that led to points.
Spencer Pallapino had 19 points to lead the Wolverines and he also pulled down seven rebounds. Zach Hamilton had 10 points and four assists, Gaines Lahue had nine points and five rebounds and Zach Eikost added 10 points, eight rebounds and four assists. Ahmad McCollough had 10 points and three assists.
Hillgrove 60, North Gwinnett 50: The Lady Hawks came away with the victory in the first round of the Parkview Thanksgiving tournament and will play Monday against either Douglas County or St. Pius X.
Hillgrove (4-0) started slow in the first quarter but picked it up in the second quarter to take control.
Zarriah Pierce led with 19 points, and Mackenzie Engram added 15.
Lassiter 43, Johns Creek 31: The Lady Trojans got their first win of the season, rallying in the fourth quarter.
Lassiter (1-2) trailed 23-20 after three periods and was tied with 4 minutes to go before taking over.
Maeve Vitale scored a team-high 20 points, while Grace Keheley just missed a double-double with 12 points and nine rebounds.
Lassiter will return to Johns Creek and its Thanksgiving tournament Monday to face Centennial.
