JOHNS CREEK — Aaron Winchester used his legs and arm to lead Mount Pisgah Christian to a 42-28 victory over Mount Paran Christian.

The loss drops the Eagles to 2-6 and 2-2 in Region 6A (B), and likely eliminated them from playoff contention for the 2012 season.

“I thought the kids played as hard as they have all year,” Mount Paran coach Mitch Jordan said. “I’m proud of the coaches, proud of the kids. They’ve fought hard. They’ve fought hard everyday and we’re learning things and we’ll continue to learn.”

Mount Pisgah got on the board first with a 13-yard touchdown pass from Winchester to Tommy Pease to complete a drive that lasted nearly 9 minutes of the first quarter.

The Eagles answered long drive of their own, and finished it with a 6-yard touchdown run by Kyle Trammell to give Mount Paran a 7-6 lead.

The Patriots were able to slow down Trammell on the night, holding Cobb County’s third leading rusher to only 78 yards.

Trailing 13-6, Jake Allen connected on an 80-yard touchdown pass to Matt McKenzie and the Eagles took a 14-13 lead into the half.

While not being able to run, Trammell decided to take to the air. He threw a 45-yard touchdown pass to his brother Taylor Trammell in the third quarter to tie the game at 21-all.

Mount Pisgah took over from there, outscoring the Eagles 21-7 in the final quarter. Mount Paran’s only touchdown came on a 5-yard touchdown pass from Allen.
