William Malcolm Bell, 90, of Kennesaw, Georgia passed away January 23, 2014 in Marietta, Georgia after a long struggle with heart problems. Mr. Bell was born in Philadelphia, PA in 1923 and served in the Army Air Corp during World War II. He earned Electrical Engineering and Business degrees at the University of Colorado in Boulder where he met his wife, Helen M. Alexander. They have been married 64 years. Mr. Bell spent his working career with the General Electric Co in Power Generation as well as the Harnischfeger Co. in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He retired from G.E. while working in New Orleans, LA where he spent his early retirement years as a founding member of New Orleans Area Habitat for Humanity. He and his wife left New Orleans during the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina and moved to Kennesaw to live near their son, Dean, and his family. Mr. Bell has been an active, life-long member of the Presbyterian Church. Bill is survived by his wife, Helen, and four children: Anne L. Warnke (Kevin), Dean G. Bell (Leah), Paul A. Bell (Carol), David S. Bell (Ann). He also is survived by 7 grandchildren: Sarah M. Ligon (Conley), Jessica L. Bell, Ryan P. Bell, Mark A. Bell (Katelin), Emily A. Buskirk (Alan), Allen D. Bell, and Emma L. Bell. He is also survived by one great grandchild, Whit Dobson. Funeral Services will be held Sunday January 26, 2014 2PM. at Mars Hill Presbyterian Church in Acworth. He will lie in state from 1-2pm with service to follow at 2:00 pm. Collins Funeral Home, Acworth, is in charge of the arrangement. Online condolences may be expressed at:
