Emory Whit “E.W.” Chastain, 89, of Kennesaw died Sunday, September 15, 2013. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Kennesaw United Methodist Church in Kennesaw with Rev. Dr. Wallace Wheeles officiating. Interment will be in Kennesaw Memorial Park in Marietta. Mr. Chastain was a lifelong member of Kennesaw United Methodist Church. He was a WWII Veteran serving in the 9th Army Aircorps’ 44th Bombardment Squadron. For over 43 years, Mr. Chastain was a member of Marietta Kiwanis Club. Mr. Chastain is survived by his wife, Carolyn A. Orr Chastain; one daughter, Katie C. Gilreath and her husband, Donald; three sisters, Emogene Darnell, Annie Kate Merritt and her husband, Larry, Donna Herndon and her husband, Olen; two brothers, Paul York Chastain, Samuel Ray Chastain; grandchildren, Ansley, Gabrielle and Zoe Gilreath. He was predeceased by his first wife, Louise Chastain and his daughter, Jane Louise Chastain. Family will receive friends 4:30 – 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta and 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Church.
