On September 11, Christine Haley Milford Brown passed quietly away from her family, surrounded by her four daughters. Christine was born in Canton, Ga. on Dec. 17, 1922, to William Floyd Haley and Cora Graham Haley. She was joined in the family three years later by her beloved brother Arthur. Preceding her in death were her parents; her step-mother, Ruth Lyon Haley; her brother and his wife, Myrtis; her former husband, Waldo Milford; and her husband, Pete Brown. Christine is survived by daughters, Eileen Milford Humphlett (Jimmy), Shirley Milford Pattison, Jeanie Milford Hunter (Johnny), Sammie Milford Calder (Don); ten grandchildren; and seventeen great-grandchildren, Jay and Daphne Humphlett (Will and Lauren), Mark and Cindy Humphlett, Carrie and Chris Cassidy (Thomas and Sarah), Tim Pattison (Paige and Ashlynn), Joe and Amy Pattison (Bailey and Brooklyn), Kim and Chuck Smith (Connor and Kaylee), Haley and Robert Meaders (Trey and Hunter), John and Neely Hunter (Brenna and Jess), Chris and Heidi English (Julianna, Isabella, Annalysa), Alyson Calder; sister-law Ruby Milford; cousins, nieces, and nephews. A memorial service, officiated by the Rev. Dr. Joe Peabody, will be held at DelMar Gardens of Smyrna, her home for the last six years, on Oct. 5 at 1:30. Mother truly loved her friends and the staff at DelMar and the caregivers from Crossroads Hospice. Her family cannot begin to thank you for all your love and concern throughout the years and especially these last days. Burial will be private graveside, immediate family only. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Crossroads Hospice, 1957 Lakeside Pkwy. Suite 500 Tucker, Ga. 30084 in memory of Christine Brown, and that you contact your local United States congressional representatives and senators in support of House Bill 1179 and Senate Bill 569 dealing with in-patient vs. observation hospital admission status.
