Carolyn King Lynch passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2013. Born in Atlanta on February 4, 1924, and a longtime resident of Smyrna, Carolyn was previously employed by Moore Incorporated and Drs. Arthur Merrill and John Dodd. She retired to have more time for her granddaughters and to do volunteer work. She was preceded in death by her parents John King Sr. and Clifford King; her twin brother Raymond King; and her older brother Jack King. Carolyn is survived by her husband of 70 years, Gill Lynch; her son Larry Lynch; her son Jack Lynch (Shiree); granddaughters Michelle Templeton (Gary) and Jennifer Lynch; great-granddaughters Ella Templeton and Jackie Templeton; a number of beloved cousins, nieces, and nephews; good friend and favorite banjo player Greg Earnest; and her puppy Snuppy. Carolyn was christened at Epworth Methodist Church in Atlanta and was a longtime member of Smyrna First United Methodist Church. Everyone who knew Carolyn will remember her great sense of humor and love of a good joke. Her favorite line was “Would I lie to you?” and everybody knew the answer to that was “Yes!” The family would like to thank WellStar Homecare and particularly friend and caretaker Dee Barnes for their help over the past two years, as well as WellStar Home Hospice who kept Carolyn comfortable at home for the past two months. We would also like to say a special thank you to Ms. Shirley Castle who was her friend and caretaker for the last few weeks and to Ms. Addie Styles who was also a longtime friend and caretaker. The family will receive visitors at Carmichael Funeral Home in Smyrna on Monday, June 24, 2013, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. The funeral will be held in the Carmichael Chapel at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, June 25, 2013, with the Rev.
