William Kelly Brown, 77, of Smyrna, Georgia (formerly of Ringgold) went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, August 20, 2010. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Emma Brown, siblings, Russell Brown, Kenneth Brown, Marguerite Sharp, Pauline Adams, great-grandson Landon Blalock. Kelly was born in McMinn County, Tennessee, and served in the United States Air Force for four years, where he was stationed in Alamogordo, New Mexico. He worked for Lockheed Martin for thirty-one years and lived in Smyrna, Georgia, and was a member of Clearview Baptist Church. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather, and was a friend to everyone. He will be sadly missed by all. Survivors include his wife, Opal Johnson Brown of 55 years, two daughters, Melinda Brown of Smyrna and Nancy (Ronnie) DeLong of Plainville, one brother Fred Brown of Chattanooga, special in-laws, five grandchildren, Melanie (Jason) Blalock, Wesley DeLong, Ronnie DeLong, Angela DeLong, Vicky Johnson and three great-grandsons, one great-granddaughter and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday August 29, 2010 in the funeral home chapel. Family will receive friends from 12:00 until service time Saturday. Arrangements are by W.L. & Wilson & Sons Funeral Home, Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia.
