Buck, a great humanitarian and member of East Cobb Civitans, had a great love for law enforcement. To honor his memory, the Civitans award the scholarship with guidance from KSU Foundation to anyone pursuing a career in law enforcement. More than $13,000 in scholarships have been awarded by the East Cobb Civitans for KSU.
Morian is a third year "nontraditional" adult student at KSU. A mother of three daughters ranging in age from 13 to 22, Morian enjoyed several jobs in the past including travel agent and stay-at-home mom. Proficient in technology, Morian plans to focus on criminal fraud in the Internet sector, a growing place for criminals to lurk and prey on individuals who are unaware of the dangers. Morian hopes to serve the police and community by protecting them from these criminals. She plans on pursuing a masters degree and possibly law degree in the future.
Kim Gresh, President of S. A. White Oil Company, was recognized as the Sponsor of the Year at the 53rd annual Miss Cobb County Scholarship Pageant. Her parents, Suse Ann and Wally Gresh, were leaders in the Marietta Jaycees and Jaycettes who started the pageant in l958. Congratulations to Kim for helping make the Cobb pageant the top cash scholarship program in the Miss Georgia system as well as one of the national leaders.
Fashion spotlight of the week: Taking the fashion crown were Christina McCauley, Miss Georgia 2010, and Casy Walker, Miss Cobb County 2010, who were stunning in white at the Miss Cobb judges dinner conducted prior to the Miss Cobb Pageant.
