Mayor Thunder Tumlin recently conducted a Young Citizens Lunch at City Hall where up-and-coming citizens enjoyed a Chick-fil-A lunch in his office, along with a visit to the city manager's office and council chamber. Every child sat in the mayor's chair and banged his gavel. Individual pictures were taken with Mayor Tumlin. The group finished their afternoon by taking a tour of the fire station and the police station.

Young citizens in attendance include Hannah Bachman, Mary Margaret Kelley, Bowen Mayfield, Harber Storey, Ellie Storey, Lily Watters, Libbie Weiner and Grace Weiner.
